About The Initiative

What is Japa Sakhi?

Japa Sakhi is a women empowerment and healthcare employment initiative launched by Sankalp Hospital. The term "Japa Sakhi" means a trusted companion during the postnatal period — a trained caregiver who supports mothers and newborns with professional skill and genuine compassion.

We identify motivated women from economically weaker backgrounds and provide them with comprehensive, hospital-grade training in maternal and newborn care. After successful completion, we connect them with employment opportunities in hospitals, maternity centers, and healthcare institutions.

This initiative bridges two critical needs: creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for underprivileged women while addressing the shortage of skilled postnatal care professionals in our healthcare system.
